Inspiration: Learning To Love You More
Sometime last year, I came across the web site Learning To Love You More. Started by the artists Miranda July and Harrell Fletcher, LTLYM posted assignments which people around the world would complete, document and submit to the site. The project lasted from 2002 to 2009 and no longer accepts submissions. The archives are online, and addicting.
Assignments were designed to “bring people together and give them a new way to feel about something.” Some examples include drawing a constellation from someone’s freckles, taking a family portrait of two families, writing down a recent argument, and acting out someone else’s argument.
There are several projects I’d like to try — I’m thinking I might do a poster of shadows first. This should be fun.
